Have you ever wondered if it's possible to take good looking macro shots with just your phone? If so you aren't the only one because recently, I challenged myself to take good quality macro images with only my phone. Now, that might seem strange, but one thing that's really important is technique. Without the right technique, even if you have thousands of dollars in gear, the image will still be ugly. What makes a beautiful picture is not necessarily the image quality, it's more the character of the image that captures our attention. A picture of a simple bird sitting on a plain branch just sitting there is not near as captivating as a bird swinging on a branch and singing at the top of its lungs, even if the other picture is sharper. Having said that there are two extremes and a blurry picture is not that nice either. So now to the subject of... Does a phone work for macro photography? Simply put, yes! Absolutely! All you need is a phone that can focus relatively close (otherwise you'll have to consider buying a macro lens for your specific model of phone.) The rest only depends on your imagination! Want some proof? Check out these pics I took using only a Samsung A15 and some slight editing!

Now of course there are many ways these pics could be improved but honestly, having been shot on a 120 dollar phone camera I wouldn’t say its too terrible so why not go have a try at it? I promise you, you will be surprised!
